Responding to requests by local
officials and residents, the Texas
Department of Transportation said it
will schedule an additional public
hearing in Waller County on the proposed

town hall meeting on the toll project
drew such a crowd in Hempstead that some
people turned away for lack of nearby
parking, facing a long walk to the hall
in the rain.
TxDOT spokesman Chris Lippincott said
state Sen. Glenn Hegar and state Rep.
John Zerwas, both R-Katy, asked for
another meeting to give everyone a

hall meetings, but will add a formal
public hearing to the two already
scheduled in Waller County.
The date and site will be announced
this week, he said.
The other two meetings, both at 6:30
p.m. Feb. 27, will be at the Knights of
Columbus Hall, 22892 Mack Washington in
Hempstead, and Waller High School, 20950
